2025 Montauk Music Festival

Meghan Tinelli

The Montauk Music Festival is truly one of my favorite times of the year! It takes place at the seaside town of Montauk and includes over four days of live music and great vibes. It’s always an amazing time of year to see old friends, spend time at the beach and hit the local bars at night.

Running Friday until Sunday, there were over 400 performances at various indoor and outdoor venues throughout Montauk. I loved the location and the accessibility of walking to different spots easily. The festival also had an app with a full schedule of where each act will be and when. This was definitely a good idea with so many performances.

Favorite Venues

People were performing everywhere from grocery stores to restaurant bars. I loved that there were so many different places you could listen to music. Some of my favorite spots that you must check out were Shagwong, Salivars, Hulu Hut, Montauket and Montauk Brewery. If you are looking an indoor bar setting, Shagwong and Salivars are great spots for at night that get packed with really cool lighting. Montauket is probably my favorite spot of the entire festival. It’s located overlooking the ocean with an outdoor stage, restaurant and indoor bar with another spot for performers. The parking gets tricky during the festival so you should prepare for a bit of a walk.

Opening Night Party

For the opening night of the festival on Thursday, a party took place at Westlake Fish House. There was 3 different stages rotating music showcasing the festivals best acts alongside free sponser drinks, appetizers and vendors. It was a great way to kick off the weekend and get a sneak peak of what’s to come. I had so much fun and loved seeing all the bands that I’ve met in previous years.

Main Stage

People brought beach chairs and blankets to watch the main stage in the center of town on Saturday and Sunday. The location was amazing and offered people the chance to walk around, grab food and drinks from the local restaurants or bars. Tickets were very cheap, $20 for a two day pass and offered a great day to relax and listen to good music.

Who Performed?

There were tons of different genres and types of music to enjoy, so you are guaranteed to find something you like. Some of my favorite rock groups were Virginia Sweet, She The People, Alex Cano, Calliope Wren and Rebel Kicks. All of these artists come from all over and it’s always very cool to see them all coming together.

Montauk in the summer is an incredible, unique experience and this music festival creates amazing memories to last a lifetime. It is an amazing community of locals and visitors to come together, party and share their love for music.
